The Turkey Trot ’23 is in the books, and what a great turnout! On a gorgeous Thanksgiving morning, a new record of 164 runners finished the race. Nicely done everyone!!
This year’s overall winner with a time of 19:56:7 is Connor James from Bonair, GA, and the overall fastest woman is Brianna Hodges from Raleigh with a time of 23.36.2. Congratulations!

Apart from the impressive athleticism and finishing times of our overall and age group winners, we are truly impressed by everyone who tackled this course. The entire field made it to the finish line in an hour or less, including the youngest (Felix deJong, age 4) and oldest (Roy Ashkenaz, age 70) participants.
We also love seeing the variety of participants, from dedicated runners going for the win to those, for whom crossing the finish line is a personal challenge accomplished. There were costumes, dogs, light sabers, even a couple of strollers (who had our go-ahead as they were repeat customers and familiar with the course).
In the end, we raised over $4800 for the Meeting Place Mission, money that will truly make a difference in the lives of community members in need of housing!
Thank you to all the runners, the kick-ass volunteers from the Meeting Place who rocked registration like pros, and of course our wonderful sponsors:
