We had a full two days of competition this past weekend with the 2021 Silver Creek Club Championship.
We had five champions crowned:
Men’s Championship Division: Chase Holland
Ladies Championship Division: Sarah Pierce
Men’s Senior Division: Jim McMahan
Ladies Senior Division: Patsy Bailey
Men’s Super-Senior Division: Terry Rogers
In the Men’s Championship Division Bradley Wyatt and Shane Hise came from the middle of the pack with fine scores of 74 from the back tees to pull even with Chase Holland and force a three-way sudden death playoff. With three straight pars in the play-off Chase Holland came out on top.
In the Ladies Championship Division Sarah Pierce’s comfortable lead shrunk to a one shot after 9-holes in the final round. Par’s and 10 and 11 helped her pull away to a comfortable four shot victory.
Another exciting finish came in the Ladies Senior Division. At the end of regulation, we had a three-way tie at the top with Debbie Jennings, Janice Vance and Patsy Bailey. Patsy Bailey proved once again that a good short game wins tournaments when she got up and down from about 20 yards on the first play-off hole.
In both the Senior and Super Senior men’s divisions we had great golf at the top. In the seniors Jim McMahan shot a fantastic tournament low 4-under par to edge out David Simpson’s 2-under par. They were the only players to break par both rounds.
In the Super Senior division, we had a repeat of last year with Terry Rogers coming out on top with an even par 144 versus runner-up Steve Jones who shot an impressive 73-73, 146.
Last but not least, we would like to congratulate Tim Vess for his second Eagle on #11. Well done!
