We had a full weekend of another wonderful Member/Guest event.
It started with practice rounds on Thursday, followed on Friday by the Par 3 tournament and the first of five 9-hole matches. Saturday we had great weather for our two 9-hole matches followed by a cocktail party and a Low Country Boil catered by Countryside BBQ. We had a lot of good energy with over 200 guests attending the dinner and rehashing their first three rounds!
Sunday morning brought some rainy weather for the players to manage, but as usual the course drained beautifully and play went on. The sun came out in the afternoon and the final match and Flight winner’s shoot-out had perfect weather.
The final shoot-out hole was team Hise/Patrick vs Kepner/Rosenfeld. It looked like Kepner and Rosenfeld were in the driver’s seat on #18 when Shane Hise’s difficult approach shot rolled over the green. Guest Richie Patrick made a nice chip to around 5 feet and Shane rolled it in for the half. The two teams went back to the 18th tee for another play-off hole and this time things were reversed, and Team Hise/Patrick were crowned 2023 Member Guest champions when Lane Rosenfeld’s par putt came to rest an inch left of the hole.
